The Galerie Stihl and the neighbouring Kunstschule Unteres Remstal (Upper Rems Valley Art School) together form a centre of culture between the historic city wall and the banks of the Rems.

The Galerie Stihl in Waiblingen focuses mainly on exhibitions of works on paper. Three temporary exhibitions per year present a varied spectrum ranging from classical drawings to design drawings, comics to strip cartoons, and sketches to digital drafts. Each year the exhibitions have a different overall motto.

The exhibition programme is divided among the following three sectors:

• Classical works on paper from the past to the present day
• Works on paper as a means of mass communication
• Applied drawings from the fields of architecture, design and technology
