ifa-Galerie Stuttgart im Alten Waisenhaus
ifa Gallery Stuttgart
The ifa Gallery Stuttgart presents art, architecture and design from Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe.
The ifa (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen e.V.) promotes direct art exchange and organizes exhibitions of German art worldwide. Worldwide exhibition tours bring artists and audiences from different cultures into contact with each other and create networks.
The ifa gallery is housed in the Altes Waisenhaus.
Altes Waisenhaus
Originally designed as equestrian barracks in 1705, the building served as an orphanage after 1712. The unusual square shape of the yellow building is based on two Stuttgart streams, which the wings of the building are oriented towards. In the inner courtyard, which is also used for open-air cultural events on beautiful summer evenings, there is a lovely beer garden.
