ITO Projektraum
The independent project space ITO experiments with unusual exhibition formats and forms as well as with artistic positions that revolve around themes such as time, emptiness, nature, existence and consciousness. The focus is on contemporary art. Curated exhibitions, performances, concerts and book presentations are important components of the program, which has a regional, national and, of course, international focus. The themed evenings for just 10 guests allow for intensive exchange and dialog on a small scale.
"ITO" is the Japanese word for thread. At this location, Peter Granser and Beatrice Theil combine the experience of art with the enjoyment of tea. Once or twice a week, Peter Granser prepares high-quality Japanese, Taiwanese and Chinese tea for registered guests. ITO offers time and peace, allows you to concentrate on the moment and still leaves room for communication.
When it comes to tea, all you need to do is enjoy it for your own personal taste and enjoy it however you feel like it. Regardless of the fact that Peter Granser has developed a great interest in the diverse objects of the tea ceremony and ceramics and incorporates them into his work, no one needs to feel unsettled by formalities or ceremonies here.
The ITO Project Space is financed and supported by the membership fees of the ITO Friends, the Stuttgart Cultural Office and Prolab as well as project-related sponsors such as the Abt-Straubinger Foundation and Gedok-Stuttgart e.V.
