Killesberg Tower
You should have a head for heights if you want to climb the steps of the Killesberg Tower (also called the Schlaichturm). With its steel cables and air-permeable stairs, it looks delicate and filigree - but it is strong enough to carry its many visitors! You won't have solid ground under your feet here, because the tower gently rocks you back and forth as you enjoy the view from the upper platform...
The filigree cable net construction with its 42 metres and four platforms at heights of 8, 16, 24 and 31 metres is a groundbreaking architectural achievement. The engineering office Schlaich, Bergermann und Partner received the Engineering Award 2002 for the Killesberg Tower in Stuttgart.
