Schlossgarten Stuttgart
Whether you want to jog, walk, rollerblade, read, sunbathe, relax or have a picnic - the palace gardens are ideal for this and are also centrally located. The popular green spaces begin just behind Schlossplatz and are divided into the upper, middle and lower palace gardens and the academy garden.
In the upper palace garden between the art building and the state parliament, you can stroll around the Eckensee lake with its fountain. The backdrop of the opera house, playhouse and Württemberg state parliament gives it a very special atmosphere.
Behind the New Palace is the Academy Garden with its pretty Empire fountain. This is where Duke Carl Eugen's Hohe Carlsschule once stood with its famous pupil Friedrich Schiller.
A sweeping footbridge leads from the upper to the middle palace garden, where you will find a lake with cascading water features and a spring garden. You can treat yourself to a break in the beer garden or in the "Café am Nil".
The lower palace garden with the plane tree avenue connects the green areas of Villa Berg and Rosenstein Palace. Marble figures, play areas and artificial bodies of water liven up the landscaped garden.
