Stadtmuseum Nürtingen

In an idyllic location in Nürtingen, between the banks of the Neckar and Steinach rivers, you will find a contemporary town museum in the old Schützenhaus dating back to 1565. Here, the history of Nürtingen comes to life for you.

The museum is the "material archive of the town" and today has a collection covering 718 square meters. Today, not everything is collected, but according to a collection concept.

The permanent exhibition on the town's history covers around 350 square meters on two and a half floors and presents the important eras of Nürtingen's history. From the development of the town until the beginning of the 19th century to the history of crafts and industry in the 19th and 20th centuries and a literary section entitled "Hölderlin and Nürtingen".

Every year, three special exhibitions on historical topics or, especially around Christmas time, attractive family exhibitions take place on the top floor.
