Steilwerk Rohracker
Steilwerk Rohracker is the smallest winegrowers' cooperative in Württemberg. But with a very special profile that we are particularly proud of: Our wines are grown exclusively on the steep slopes of the vineyards around Rohracker with their valuable dry stone walls. The entire vineyard area is located in a protected landscape area and therefore requires our care - almost entirely by hand. Here, the past is as alive as the present. We work here as we always have - a valuable asset in our otherwise very mechanized agriculture. There are no tractors here - no soil compaction - and the walls act as large heat reservoirs during the ripening period. It is obvious that grapes of exceptional quality can be produced here. The 24 Steilwerk winegrowers cultivate around four hectares of vineyard terraces on steep slopes with loving enthusiasm in a tradition dating back over 100 years. It's steep, because 95 percent of the Steilwerk vineyards consist of terraced steep slopes.
We cordially invite you to taste our wines and also offer vineyard tours and winegrowing courses.
