Theater in der Badewanne Stuttgart

The Theater in der Badewanne is located in the Höhenpark Killesberg. The puppet theater focuses on fairy tales with figures in an idyllic stage setting, fantastic stories that work through special lighting, funny children's stories, presented charmingly and sometimes with Swabian dialect. The themes are realized with hand puppets, rod puppets, table puppets, drama and shadow theater.

Plays are performed in the Theater in der Badewanne from the beginning of March to the beginning of December. Special dates for schools and kindergartens are possible. Adults and children alike enjoy the freedom of the park that surrounds the theater. There are no cars, but there is a huge playground, an animal meadow, a small train and a high observation tower.

The Theater in der Badewanne was founded in 1980 under the name "Laterne Figurentheater" by Antonie Fröhlich and has been run by her ever since. From the very beginning, it was based in the Höhenpark Killesberg, initially in a temporary space. Since the International Horticultural Exhibition in 1993, it has been housed in an inviting theater space. The seating arrangement in the performance space is reminiscent of a bathtub.
