Weingut der Stadt Stuttgart
The winery has been part of Stuttgart's wine culture since 1949 and contributes to the preservation of the inner-city wine landscape with its work in the city's vineyards. In 2020, the winery joined the BIOLAND association and has been in conversion ever since.
In addition to the approximately 65% red grape varieties, the range of white wine varieties is being expanded. Chardonnay, Muscat and fungus-resistant varieties, Cabernet Blanc and Sauvignac, were newly planted.
There is also great interest in red wines. Lemberger, Pinot Noir and Trollinger grow alongside Syrah, Merlot and the newly planted Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery remains true to the Württemberg wine tradition - but this is precisely why Timo Saier and his helpers give each new vintage its very own style.
The historic vineyards characterize the special cityscape of Stuttgart. Some of the grapes grow barely visible in the middle of residential areas. Most of the inner-city vineyards are steep slopes and require a lot of manual labor as well as expertise to cultivate and care for them.
The winery can be experienced by everyone - at wine festivals amidst the vines, at table in the Weindorflaube or at an exclusive wine tasting in our Vinothek. Beyond these occasions, Stuttgart's own wines taste just as good at home with a meal, with friends or family.
The wines are available either directly from the winery or from one of our partners in Stuttgart.
