German bread culture is a world heritage site. Perhaps that explains the long daily queues at Calwer Platz. "Time for bread" is the motto and name of the Bioland bakery that has set up shop here. This is immediately put into practice: Customers wait patiently for their "Brotzeit". Those who arrive at the counter are rewarded with regional quality. Chemical additives, enzymes or other artificial substances are taboo. In addition to sourdough and spelt bread, rolls and cakes, there are also sweet and savory snacks, sandwiches, homemade muesli, salads, coffee specialties and smoothies. Particularly popular are the snail noodles, which are classically filled with apple and cinnamon or innovatively with raspberries and white chocolate. Curious noses can watch the professionals at work through the glass bakery - and breathe in a pinch of coziness.
