Rademann and the instrumentalists of the Gaechinger Cantorey dedicate themselves to an exciting chapter of 18th century music. While Johann Sebastian Bach represents the pinnacle of Baroque music, his sons represent a change in style, the beginning of a new era with the Galant and later the Empfindsame style.
The composers abandoned complex counterpoint and sought a new melodic and harmonic language that led to classical music. Through the refined and elaborate compositions of Bach's eldest sons, Wilhelm Friedemann and Carl Philipp Emanuel, as well as those of Johann Christian, who was over 20 years younger, we explore the orchestra's new forms of expression and sound effects.
Learn how the Bachs, with their own personality and their father's legacy, shaped the new musical taste at the German and European courts.
