This time you can experience the JSB Ensemble under the direction of Jos van Veldhoven. The Dutch conductor has dedicated his life to Baroque music - from opera to church music. From 1983 to 2018, he was artistic director of the Netherlands Bach Society, with which he made impressive recordings of Bach's major works. Also important are their videos in the "All of Bach" series, which are distributed on YouTube. In 2007, Jos van Veldhoven was made a Knight of the Order of the Lion of the Netherlands for his pioneering work in the field of early music. He is Professor of Choral Conducting at the Amsterdam Conservatory and the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. At the Bachfest, he and the JSB Ensemble will present the choral cantata BWV 96 "Herr Christ, der einge Gottessohn" and one of the Lutheran Masses with magnificent choruses and arias that Bach composed in the late 1730s.
