Cía Manuel Liñán "VIVA!"
"As a child, I used to lock myself in my room and put on my mother's green skirt. I decorated my hair with flowers, put on make-up and danced in secret. Outside these four walls, this dance was unthinkable".
Viva emerges from this intimate childhood memory in a situation in which social and artistic rules dictate that artists must present themselves according to their gender. After the illusion, desire and need were isolated and remained silent for years, Viva sees the light and remembers these moments. She leaves the door open that separates the private from the public.
A cry for the freedom of transformation, which does not always mean a kind of masking, but rather a nakedness.
Under the sign of the festival, Liñán presents the plurality of dance, the different forms and the uniqueness of each of them. With six dancers who will explore and investigate this fascinating universe of transvestism, revealing the formal part of these identities that make up our own nature.
