Click! A look at Stuttgart's remarkable photographic history
Stuttgart was and is a metropolis of photography. The 19th Day of City History provides evidence for this initially seemingly bold thesis. Three main lectures will outline the topic of "Stuttgart as a city of photography": Prof. Dr. Rolf Sachsse, who holds a lectureship in digital curating at the University of Bonn, will cover a wide range of topics and look at the changes from the exclusive glass plate photograph to the inflationary cell phone photo. PD Dr. Ulrich Hägele from the University of Tübingen, the curator of the exhibition created for the "Tag", will give an overview of Stuttgart's photographic history, and Heike van der Horst from the Stuttgart City Archive will report on the photographer estates in her care. In the second part of the lecture event, members of the city history working group will talk about local and special topics.
With exhibition in the Salon Sophie (ground floor of the Stadtpalais) from 2.11.2024 to 26.1.2025.
