52. Stuttgarter Advents-Singen (verkürzte Aufführung)

Location:
Nikolaus-Cusanus-Haus, Törlesäckerstraße 9, 70599 Stuttgart
Date
December 7, 2024, 4:00 PM

Traditional songs and instrumental music for the Advent and Christmas season with choir, violins, flutes, Egerländer bagpipes, parlor music, readings and joint songs with the choir of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Sing-, Tanz- und Spielkreise in Baden-Württemberg in the Liederhalle Stuttgart.

Why travel to Salzburg when dedicated amateurs have been organizing an Advent singing event in Stuttgart for over 50 years? Choir and musicians in traditional costumes perform long-forgotten Advent and Christmas carols from all over the German-speaking world and beyond. The audience is invited to sing along to well-known carols. The moods of the Advent and Christmas season are explored, from intimate Marian carols to cheerful pastoral scenes. All the instruments - including such rare ones as the bagpipes and dulcimer - join together at the beginning for the festive Intrade and at the end for the jointly sung "Es ist ein Ros entsprungen".

Participants: Choir of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Sing-, Tanz- und Spielkreise in Baden-Württemberg, violin music and recorder quartet from the Stuttgarter Spielkreis, Stubenmusik, Egerländer Bauernmusik.
Director: Gerlind Preisenhammer

Admission free, donations requested.
