AB Syndrome
AB Syndrom have been making waves since 2017, starting with their vocal chop hit "Flaggschiff", which earned the band their first radio airplay and now more than 2.5 million streams on Spotify. The Berlin duo has worked completely DIY from the very beginning, i.e. everything from the entire music production to the artwork and music videos is consistently produced independently and released on their self-founded indie label. And this consistency can be heard and felt.
Unusual electronic sounds and intricate beats form the basis for Bennet's very personal and autobiographical lyrics. Through striking vocal distortion and lyrical abstraction, the songs leave room for personal interpretation despite their subjectivity.
The focus on the personal also characterizes AB Syndrom's live shows. The only things on stage are Anton's drums equipped with pads and a keyboard, which the duo uses to adapt the electronic sound of the album for the stage. Everything is created in the moment: No backing tracks, no lifeless show to a prefabricated tape.
Since Flagship, AB Syndrom have had two exciting album cycles: 2019 with Mine on tour through Germany, Switzerland and Austria, followed shortly afterwards by concerts in Vietnam, Hong Kong and Manila. 2020 Frontalcrash album release during the Corona lockdown and subsequent streaming concerts at DLF Nova and c/o pop, all alone in a huge former thermal power station. Then in 2022, after the coronavirus restart: they generated radio airplay across Germany with the album Tut mir gut Tut mir leid and went on their first headlining tour in winter 2022-23 - including a live concert on radioeins.
The band gained further recognition in the scene through features with Novaa, a remix for Ätna's remix album "Remade By Desire" and two joint songs with Mine, which took them to Böhmermann's ZDF Magazin Royale, to festivals in front of 5,000 people and most recently to the Elbphilharmonie.
