Alte Spieleisenbahnen in Betrieb

Old toy trains are often only seen in showcases in museums. At the Häussler Citizens' Forum, you can experience toy trains on over 15 layouts in operation with clockwork, steam and electricity.

This exhibition has been around for more than four decades and is unparalleled in Germany. Locomotives, wagons and tinplate accessories that our grandparents and great-grandparents used to play with are on display. We show you gems that many collectors or the Märklineum only have in display cases on two floors and on more than 800 m². Exhibits of unique rarity in different sizes and gauges. Models from Märklin, Bing, Bub and other legendary manufacturers. The focus is on the large 0 and 1 gauges.

You can also expect special attractions such as locomotive parades, models on exciting special themes and masterpieces in sheet metal: the Stuttgart, Leipzig and other historic stations in 1 and 0 gauges.

Incidentally, the trains run not only on electricity or batteries, but also on clockwork and real steam locomotives. Of course, the Märklin disaster train will also be in action this year, a toy well over 100 years old that disintegrates into all its individual parts when it collides, as will the "Chocolate Express" with little treats for all the little spectators.
