Amor mi fa cantar
Ensemble all'improvviso:
Anne Schneider, vocals
Miyoko Ito, fiddle, vocals
Martin Erhardt, recorder, organetto, vocals, percussion
A distant, magically moving world of sound opens up with the music of the Trecento, the music of the 14th century from Italy. Vocals, fiddle, flute and organetto weave a tapestry of sound on which the audience can comfortably settle down to listen to sensual ballads, rousing istanpitte (popular dances in courtly Europe from the 12th to 14th centuries) and improvisations. Short readings from Giovanni Boccaccio's novella collection "Decamerone" from the same period provide a mostly tongue-in-cheek counterpoint.
Works by Francesco Landini, Jacopo daBologna, from the Codex Rossi, from the Codex Squarcialupi and others will be performed.
Early music concert series
The concert series at the Haus der Musik starts its sixth season. The line-up includes top-class international ensembles and musicians. Renowned lecturers from the Trossingen University of Music present wonderful programs. Other well-known national and regional ensembles as well as offerings from the Stuttgart music academies round off the extensive program, which of course also includes live performances of the historical keyboard instruments of the Württemberg State Museum.
