Staged concert Music: Teresa Raff (harp) and Isabelle Raphaelis (flute) Texts: Anne Carson Reading voice: Julia Blechinger

In the poetic text "Anthropology of Water" by poet Anne Carson, movement, encounters and water have an existential meaning for a protagonist and her relationship with her father, who suffers from dementia. She travels to overcome the pain and powerlessness that her father's illness has plunged her into. The pilgrimage to the water also leads her to an
unexpected inner destination. Excerpts from the Canadian writer's text are the focus of the staged concert format. Teresa Raff (harp) and Isabelle Raphaelis (flute) play works by Wagner, Mahler, Gisladottir and Boulanger, among others. Julia Blechinger is the actress and Marisa Burkhardt is the dramaturge. Concept and production: Joosten Ellée, Director PODIUM Esslingen. Anne Carson, born 1959 in Toronto, is one of the most important contemporary poets. She is a professor of classical philology and a Homer specialist. Some of her work has been published in German translation, including "Anthropologie des Wassers" in 2014, translated by Marie-Luise Knott.
