In 1930, Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht created a new type of grand opera, radical in terms of both entertainment and criticism. With the wit of epic theater, the musical esprit of jarring pub songs and music of the avant-garde, they built the fable of a paradise city perishing from its own utopias, in which there is only one mortal sin - insolvency. Director Ulrike Schwab explores with a young ensemble who would even dare to dream of a better future today.
