In 1930, Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht created a new type of grand opera, radical in terms of both entertainment and criticism. With the wit of epic theater, the musical esprit of jarring pub songs and music of the avant-garde, they built the fable of a paradise city perishing from its own utopias, in which there is only one mortal sin - insolvency. Together with a young ensemble, director Ulrike Schwab examines who would even dare to dream of a better future today.
Due to the altered stage set-up, this production will result in restricted views in some seats, particularly in the II and III tiers. Scenic actions taking place in the stalls and in the orchestra pit above the stage will be shown via live video on the walls. Please note the notice "partial viewing restrictions" in the webshop. These affected seats are also reduced in price. If you have any questions, please contact the ticket office on 0711 202090 or tickets@staatstheater-stuttgart.de.
