"... That's something to learn from!" Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is said to have said when he heard one of Bach's motets in Leipzig long after his death. For there, the works of Johann Sebastian were cherished and continued to be performed. Gotthold Schwarz, a renowned bass-baritone and the Thomaskantor who succeeded Georg Christoph Biller from 2016-21, is one of those continuing the tradition in our time. In 2012, he founded the Bach Consort Leizpig, with whom he has already delighted us in this hour. This time we will hear two motets as well as interesting arrangements by Bach of works by Telemann.
