How does world literature become a ballet? Inspired by Leo Tolstoy's social novel, John Neumeier has created his version of Anna Karenina. In the run-up to the major Stuttgart premiere, the choreographer talks about the inspiration and challenges of working on the work as well as his view of the female character at the center of the plot.
