BIX TIPP: Kat Eaton

Following the global success of her debut album 'Talk To Me', Kat Eaton has returned to the studio to record her second album 'Honestly', which is the perfect progression, effortlessly blending soul and classic R&B with blues and gospel.

Kat says: "After Frank White [Sheffield blues legend and mentor] passed away, Nick and I went back to our roots and decided to satisfy the blues/gospel itch that Frank had given us a taste for. Hopefully we've created something he can be proud of."
Armed with new original material and backed by a band that has played with the likes of Tom Jones, Van Morrison, George Benson, Mark Ronson and Ed Sheeran, Kat Eaton's live show is world class, honest and captivating.

Born in Cardiff, raised in Sheffield and now living in the capital, Kat Eaton has made a name for herself both in the UK and abroad in recent years. Her love of blues, soul, jazz and gospel began at a young age, listening to her father's record collection and sneaking off to gigs in working men's clubs and pubs as a minor to see Sheffield blues legend Frank White. It was at one of these early gigs that Kat decided not to become a pop artist (as many of her peers had suggested), but instead to follow her gut instinct and play the music she had grown up with and that was in her bones.

Following the worldwide success of her debut album "Talk To Me", Kat is back in the studio recording her second album and booking her UK and European tour. While on some debut albums artists are still finding their feet and finding their sonic direction, Kat is unashamedly bold and confident in her abilities as a singer and songwriter, effortlessly blending soul and classic R&B in ten mature and well-rounded tracks. Using only live instruments (a must for Kat), "Talk To Me" takes the classic vintage sound of inspirations like Barbara Lynn and Lesley Gore and updates it for the 21st century with contemporary flourishes and accessible lyrics.
