Melancholic island pop made in the Black Forest
"Black Forest Kate Bush" or "the Black Forest's answer to melancholic Iceland pop" - these are the titles of her latest concerts and are a good description of what she achieves with her music.
The songs of Montau, alias Judith Heusch (formerly Patty Moon), are filled with vast landscapes, stories and plenty of emotion. Her songs sound Nordic and don't always have simple harmonies. Her elfish voice floats high and wide in the middle of and sometimes above the music.
The big pictures are captured on the piano, which remains the basis of every composition and live song production. She has already supported Agnes Obel and Cat Power on major stages, sometimes with the support of a band and strings.
For her song "Polar Light", Montau asked one of her favorite musicians from Norway: Daniel Herskedal, who is indirectly involved in the lyrics of the song. Herskedal liked the song and recorded a wonderful solo for the song, which will be featured on the forthcoming album.
After several released albums with PATTY MOON, film and cinema music and numerous concerts, Judith Heusch moves even closer to the realization of harmonies, lyrics and sounds in this production, which are able to reflect her inner world and suck the listener into the intoxication of a world of their own.
