Every voice counts! Choral music for many voices

Premiere! The German National Youth Choir sings for us for the first time. The German Music Council's selection ensemble has been directed by Detmold choir conducting professor Anne Kohler since it was founded in 2021. For their hour-long debut, the vocally well-trained singers dare to tackle Tallis' Spem in alium from 1570. The performance of 40 (!) different parts requires highly independent choristers. In contrast, the 16 required parts in the score by Norwegian Lasse Thoresen (*1949) seem almost harmless, but in contemporary music the complex harmonies often pose particular challenges for the performers.
