COLOURS International Dance Festival 2025

After a break of three years, the COLOURS International Dance Festival is finally returning - and from now on in the tried and tested rhythm of odd-numbered years. The biennial festival, produced by Theaterhaus Stuttgart, promises 18 days full of dance highlights from June 26 to July 13, 2025.

Highlights of the 2025 program:

• 15 stage programs, including two world premieres, four European premieres and two German premieres.
• A top-class line-up: world stars such as Eastman | Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui (BEL), the Hofesh Shechter Company (UK) and the Compagnie Marie Chouinard (CAN) meet established ensembles such as Gravity & Other Myths (AUS) and up-and-coming talents such as Botis Seva | Far From The Norm (UK).
• A COLOURS residency with Sofia Nappi and her company KOMOCO (IT), who will create the basis for their new piece "SORA".

The hosts of Theaterhaus Stuttgart are contributing two new full-length productions to the festival. Gauthier Dance will open the festival with the Akram Khan evening Turning of Bones, while the new artist in residence Barak Marshall will present the world premiere of Barker - a rousing dance theater piece that will also be shown in schools as part of the outreach initiative MOVES FOR FUTURE.

• COLOURS in the City brings the magic of the festival directly into the city:
• COLOURS Playground on Schlossplatz
• COLOURS Family Day in cooperation with Wilhelma Zoo
• COLOURS Pop-Ups in the city districts with Eric Gauthier
• COLOURS Collaborations - exciting guest appearances at cultural events in Stuttgart.
