London is kept on tenterhooks by the "Shark", a criminal who does not shy away from murder.

Inspector Wade, from the water police, is on his trail. But he has not yet been able to arrest the "shark".

So he sets off feverishly in search of the criminal. And his investigations lead him again and again to the "Mecca Club", the dubious pub on the Thames. Will he find the "shark" there?
