Themed tour as part of the Spoken Arts Festival

What actions do people take to fight for their rights? How do they campaign for political, economic or social goals? 18 biographies in the "Democracy and Participation since 1945" section tell of different forms of participation. The protests against nuclear power plants play just as much a role as the fight against racism.

The tour places a special focus on Jasmin Blunt and her demand to remove the novel "Pigeons in the Grass" as compulsory reading at vocational high schools. With her demand, she wanted to protect students from violence and discrimination - because the book contains over 100 racist terms.

In a subsequent discussion on "Pigeons in the Grass" as part of the Spoken Arts Festival, the novel will be explored in more depth.

The guided tour takes place as part of this year's Spoken Arts Festival from November 14 to 19, 2024.
