The Nutcracker is the last and most successful work by composer Peter Tchaikovsky. The plot of the ballet is based on the fantastic tale by the German Romantic writer E.T.A. Hoffmann "Nutcracker and Mouse King".
The story of a young girl who receives a nutcracker as a gift and dreams that it will turn into Prince Charming fascinates young and old around the world. For a few hours, you are whisked away from everyday life into a romantic and imaginative world of dreams and longings.
When the guests have said their goodbyes on Christmas Eve, Klara goes back to her presents. She falls asleep there. At midnight, the nutcrackers and dolls come to life and Klara suddenly finds herself in the middle of a magical world. Snowflakes and dancing flowers accompany the girl on her journey to the realm of the beautiful sugar fairy. A magical Christmas fairy tale that delights ballet fans of all ages at every performance.
