With his incorruptible sense of right and wrong and his courage to make decisions that were uncomfortable for himself, the exemplary pastor from Germany became a beacon of hope worldwide. In England, Dietrich Bonhoeffer is one of the twenty martyrs of the 20th century who are depicted as figures carved in stone above the portal of Westminster Abbey.
