Every year, the Planetarium Stuttgart's Christmas program explores the question of whether there is a scientific explanation for the account of the famous Star of Bethlehem.

For centuries, scholars have puzzled over whether the Star of Bethlehem really existed or whether it is just an imaginative embellishment of the Christmas story. The biblical story of the Christmas star is taken up in the Gospel of Matthew.

The Planetarium Stuttgart presents a production from the Planetarium Laupheim, in which a journey is taken back to the time of Christ's birth, when celestial research and stargazing were still closely linked.

Have scientists found a plausible explanation for the legend of the Christmas star?
