Die Mausefalle

Location:
Altes Schauspielhaus, Kleine Königstr. 9, 70178 Stuttgart

The world's most successful detective story comes to the stage of the Altes Schauspielhaus! Agatha Christie's cult crime thriller, which we are presenting at the start of the 16th Stuttgart Crime Nights, has kept audiences on the edge of their seats for over 70 years.

England in the 1950s. On the same day that a woman is brutally murdered in London, Mollie and Giles Ralston open their small guesthouse Monkswell Manor in the countryside. They are excitedly awaiting their first guests, who arrive during a heavy snowstorm. Young Sergeant Trotter also fights his way to Monkswell Manor, because the police suspect that the fugitive London murderer is among the guests! The house is soon completely cut off from the outside world, the guests are trapped and everyone suspects everyone else. And then another murder takes place - but who is the culprit?

The play has broken all records in theater history. It has been running continuously in London's West End since 1952 - in almost 30,000 performances! "The cleverest thriller in British theater.
'The Mousetrap' will run forever," wrote the Daily Telegraph, and has been proved right to this day.

So thrills are guaranteed! The ensemble includes Audience Award winner Reinhold Weiser and Annette Mayer ("Arsen und Spitzenhäubchen"). The production is directed by Eva Hosemann, who, as co-director of the Stuttgart Crime Nights, is an expert in thrilling entertainment.
