Die Nacht der 5 Tenörel: Anniversary tour - 25 years

A true celebration of opera awaits fans of classical music in Germany in December and January. DIE NACHT DER 5 TENÖRE will be going on tour again next winter. Over 20 dates in some of the country's most beautiful concert halls are on the agenda. With their new program "Melodie per milioni", they will take visitors on a journey through the most beautiful songs from the most famous operas. Arias and melodies that have inspired millions for centuries.

For 25 years now, the five tenors have been delighting thousands of guests at their classical music concert series with their passion for classical music. Every year at the turn of the year, five of the most powerful-voiced tenors go on tour to bring the fascination of opera to many German cities.

Luigi Frattola, Orfeo Zanetti, Vincenzo Sanso, Alejo Ruiz and Emil Pavlov are normally only seen in the most prestigious opera houses, from La Scala in Milan to the Semperoper in Dresden and the Vienna State Opera. Now they have the unique opportunity to experience them live in over 20 cities in Germany and immerse themselves in the world of Tosca, Aida, Rigoletto, Otello, Turandot, La Traviata, Carmen and many more.

The Plovdiv Symphonic Orchestra under the direction of Nayden Todorov accompanies them on their tour. And the conductor is another star of this ensemble. He is regarded as the best conductor in Eastern Europe, has performed at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow and the Klagenfurt Summer Festival, toured Japan with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, worked with opera stars such as Placido Domingo, Raina Kabaivanska, Angela Gheorghiu, Sonya Yoncheva, Juan Diego Florez, Paul Badura-Skoda and Sarah Chang and has even been Minister of Culture in Bulgaria. Founded in 1997, the Plovdiv Symphonic Orchestra has now completed over 1,000 live performances in Europe alone and has worked with renowned artists such as Roger Hodgson (formerly Supertramp) and Anastacia in the many years of its existence.

With its new program "Melodie per milioni", "Die Nacht der 5 Tenöre" is preparing a whole evening full of musical highlights. The repertoire presents arias from well-known operas such as "Aida", "Nabucco", "Tosca", "Carmen" and "La Traviata" as well as "The Gypsy Baron". There are also famous Italian canzonas, which makes for a fascinating mix.

The tenors and orchestra are supported by Andrea Hörkens. The soprano, who is celebrated throughout Europe, will host the concert evening. As in the previous year, Marc Marshall will once again be a star guest. He will be performing on the dates from 31.12.2024.

Marc Marshall was born in Baden-Baden in 1963 as the son of entertainer Tony Marshall. At the age of six, Marc traveled to Chicago for six weeks with his father, who was still unknown at the time, and performed on stage with him every night as part of his US club tour. After leaving school, Marc Marshall studied jazz in Los Angeles in 1982 and deepened his second passion, classical music. He completed his studies as a baritone at the State University of Music in Karlsruhe. It was there that the father of two met Jay Alexander in 1993 during an operetta production. Their successful singing career as the classical pop duo Marshall & Alexander has taken the two exceptional artists to the most beautiful stages and to top positions in the charts since 1998. As part of the tour, Marc Marshall performs solo, as a duet with Andrea Hörkens and together with all the tenors.

The new production THE NIGHT OF THE 5 TENORS "Melodie per milioni" will fascinate audiences, whether they are experienced opera connoisseurs or classical music beginners. Melodies that have thrilled millions for centuries, beautifully intoned by five tenors with magical voices.
