Charles De Goal
Nobody knew who was behind the singer and the rumors circulated. After two albums that oscillated between punk and cold wave, minimalist, dark and nervous (the first, "Algorythmes", influenced an entire generation, not only in France), Charles De Goal celebrated several hits on TV and radio stations. A final album was released in 1986, followed by a compilation in 1989. The new tracks recorded up to 1992 were not released until 2005, as a bonus on the CD reissue of "Algorythmes". In Monkey Test, an electro-punk band, we find Patrick Blain again in the mid-2000s.

The music is a mixture of dark wave, post-punk and synth-pop, with 80s elements and shoegazy guitars, varied electronic beats, sequencers and basses.
