Photo exhibition "Dressed as a Girl" by Eva-Maria Gebhardt
From February 5 to 23, the StadtPalais - Museum für Stuttgart is showing the impressive photo exhibition "Dressed as a Girl" in its gallery, which shows the lives of three drag queens from Stuttgart in fascinating documentary images. The vernissage on February 5, 6 pm offers a unique experience of art, performance and personal encounters.
The exhibition is the result of a master's project by 24-year-old photographer Eva-Maria Gebhardt, who studied at Falmouth University in England and completed her bachelor's degree at the Merz Akademie in Stuttgart. Over a longer period of time, she accompanied the Stuttgart drag queens Cherry Bliss, Queen Henni and Emily Island - not only on stage, but also in their private lives. The resulting images provide an intimate insight into the world behind the scenes and shed light on the personal side of this fascinating art form.
The vernissage will be accompanied by performances by the drag queens portrayed, who will delight the audience with glamorous performances. Guests can also expect musical accompaniment and exciting talks that take a look behind the scenes of the project. The newly published illustrated book on Dressed as a Girl will also be available on site - a must-have for art lovers and drag fans.
