Kester graduated from high school. As the best, even though he skipped a class. While his class is celebrating the end of their school days by the sea, he plans to take his own life over the weekend. But one last time he wants to live it to the full, to experience total intoxication. In the process, he meets some of the characters of the night, gets to know their worries and needs, wishes and dreams and begins to waver. Not least Bruno, who follows Kester through the final hours, makes sure of this. A young, cultivated man who claims to be an angel. The novel tells of growing up and of the ways out when you no longer know how to help yourself: other people as saving angels.
Nils Mohl lives in Hamburg and owns a caravan on Amrum. He was awarded the German Youth Literature Prize for his novel Es war einmal Indianerland. He has written screenplays for feature films and publishes a poem on Instagram every Monday.
