Esslingen Medieval Market & Christmas Market

We've been waiting a long time for this - for the return of jugglers, fire and stilt artists, musicians, craftspeople, traders and innkeepers. They will once again captivate people with their colorful hustle and bustle in 2024. And, as always, Esslingen's beautiful old town provides the atmospheric backdrop. With around 180 stalls and a daily cultural program, the Esslingen Medieval Market & Christmas Market is one of the largest and most beautiful in the region.

Special attractions at the medieval market include the warm hot tub at the harbor market, medieval games, archery, the candle workshop, the hand-operated Ferris wheel and much more. Everywhere there is the tempting smell of hot mulled wine, sweet mead and berry juice. Visitors can also look forward to a wide selection of delicious dishes, most of which are made fresh and tasty from regional ingredients.

The Christmas market is also well equipped to cater for your physical well-being: traditionally, there is sumptuous bratwurst with cabbage or Kässpätzle. Those who prefer something sweet can look forward to crispy waffles, roasted almonds and gingerbread. Stylishly decorated stalls with handicrafts, regional products, light houses, knitwear and Christmas decorations offer the right gift for every budget.

Around the Postmichelbrunnen fountain, the Christmas island with a living nativity scene once again awaits visitors. And the little ones can put their letters to the Christ Child in the wish box.

On the weekends before Christmas, over 30 artisans showcase their treasures at the Advent market in Ritterstraße.
