EVA KRUSE QUINTETT

New Legend Tour 2025

New Legend is the name of the new work that Eva Kruse recorded with her striking quintet at the Svenska Grammofonstudion in Gothenburg in March 2020. Over the past five years, the formation has grown together into an organism with a common, individual sound language. Interactions now sound even more lively, timbres even more nuanced, targeted frictions more finely tuned to each other. The denser interplay creates a stronger live feeling, while at the same time the strengths of the personalities emerge more clearly.

Since she began making music at a young age, Eva Kruse has embraced various styles. She has been playing many pieces by Bach on the piano for around a decade, during which time she developed her fine feeling for two-part harmony. Groove is another common thread running through her more recent past. "I like very different music and fast changes," says Eva Kruse, explaining the diversity of her new repertoire. "What's more, the band is made up of five personalities who bring their respective musical worlds in and together." Consequently, New Legend inspires with expressive timbres and variable tempos, sometimes optimistic, sometimes reflective moods. Dazzling facets that together create a harmonious and impressive overall picture.
