Festival Uhlandshöhe 2024

With a view of Stuttgart and in the historic ambience of the observatory, a new open-air festival will take place on the Uhlandshöhe for the second time in 2024. The concerts will focus on top-class classical chamber music with string quartets and soloists such as Sào Soulez Larivière (viola) and Théotime Gillot (piano). With the Barbican Quartet (1st Prize ARD Competition 2022) and the Chaos String Quartet Vienna (1st Prize International Competition Bad Tölz 2023), festival founder Gustav Frielinghaus will present two of the most promising young international quartets on the Uhlandshöhe.

Groups will also provide a varied festival experience in the afternoon on the grounds of the observatory and the surrounding park with chamber music in changing concerts and sound installations. Snacks and wines from the region as well as the "Late Night Jazz" concerts at sunset with Stephan Braun (jazz cello) and Echo Klassik winner Arne Jansen (jazz guitar) round off the experience.
Between the concerts, the observatory team offers free guided tours and invites you to discover the historic site. Later in the evening, the starry sky can also be studied with the impressive telescopes.

With views of the Neckar and the vineyards, the festival venue is surrounded by nature and yet is well connected with a walk and just a few bus stops to Stuttgart Central Station.
