German depro-dark-wave-punk institution
emerged in the mid-1980s from Stuttgart's CHAOS Z, who were regarded by many as one of the first German hardcore bands ever and whose uncompromising sound already counted JOY DIVISION predecessor WARSAW among its influences alongside DISCHARGE, the change of band name at the time was a logical step towards opening up to other styles such as new wave, post-punk, early gothic and the use of keyboards in order to create their very own dark depro-punk sound cosmos. And indeed, the debut under a new name - the 1988 album "An den Ufern" (On the Shores) - already earned the formation around today's only "original survivor" Andreas Löhr something like cult or legendary status and over the years they have been able to gain a devoted fan base that works across scenes and, on closer inspection, is a "colorful" audience. After all, there are many shades of black!
