Prof. Dr. Alois Herkommer University of Stuttgart Institute of Technical Optics (ITO) Research areas: Simulation sciences, biomedical systems, production technologies, medical technology Hybrid event: participation on site and via livestream possible

Every hobbyist is familiar with 3D printers. At the University of Stuttgart, special light-based printers are used to produce optical systems as small as a grain of salt. They can be used to print endoscopes that are thinner than a human hair. The scientists are currently researching how complete 3D printing can be miniaturized to repair structures in the body. The lecture will provide insights into the technology and initial results on endoscopic 3D printing of tissue.
