The Town Musicians of Bremen is a play that aims to encourage. The fact that the four heroes, animals on the move, are down-and-outs makes them human and the encouraging saying "you can find something better than death anywhere" is also likeable. Necessity is the mother of invention and - despite all the opposites - a wonderful domestic community can develop.
