It could be Mars. A region outside Madrid. The Mojave Desert. Or the Sahara. But we are in Germany. In America, near Penig, in the district of Central Saxony, to be precise. And the catastrophe is omnipresent: the land is a blazing furnace, the earth is parched, houses are burning down and there has been no wind for months. And there is no tornado far and wide to rescue the crisis-ridden characters from their fate. But there is a girl called Dorothee Sturm, and she has set her sights on nothing less than saving the world. The only problem is that she seems to attract misfortune.
