In May, the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker, together with the Stuttgarter Kantorei, choirs from France and Poland and renowned soloists, will perform Mahler's "Resurrection Symphony" in a memorial concert. 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War - the enemies of that time have become friends and partners. With a major concert project under the direction of Steven Sloane, the artists want to keep the memory of what happened alive and celebrate the gratitude for freedom, the end of the war and the international friendships that have developed. From the initial funeral march to the impressive resurrection finale, Mahler's work also takes us on a transformative journey through human existence according to the motto "Per aspera ad astra" ("Over rough paths one reaches the stars") - and is predestined for this musical commemoration. An ode to hope and reconciliation, tolerance and democracy!
