Exhibition in Untertürkheim district library. Vernissage Saturday, November 16, 6 p.m.
The exhibition shows a large part of Brigitte Kutterer's fabric paintings. Wonder flowers, bouquets of roses, jungle scenes, pictures of home and family, labyrinths, tunnels of light, guardian angels, spheres, signs - these are motifs from her pictorial work. Painted not with brush and pen, but with needle and thread. She used fine stitches to sew pieces of fabric together and on top of each other, combining plain and printed fabrics, silk, lace, gold and silver threads, pearls, shells and precious stones. The sewn pictures were created over a period of 30 years, from 1990, when she was already 60 years old, until shortly before her death in February 2022. Brigitte Kutterer was born in 1929 and lived in Untertürkheim.
