The president, once a national hero and liberator of his country, is ousted from power and has to flee to the wild mountainous region of his homeland, accompanied only by a handful of loyal supporters. In the hope of finding loyal supporters and regaining power, they travel over snow-covered mountains and impassable passes, through deep forests and raging rivers - full of beauty and danger. The all-encompassing nature, their refuge, turns out to be an unpredictable force that can turn against them at any time. Who can the president still trust? His dreams, which conjure up the past, begin to interweave with reality. Slowly, the goal becomes blurred before his eyes and the former head of state is forced to make a momentous decision. The film tells a poetic story of power and its effects on people and the beauty and elemental force of nature.
