Jan Lisiecki is exactly the right person for Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1. The composer is his soulmate, to whom he found his own personal approach - light and delicate and with a brilliance that makes the beauty of the music shine all the more, unencumbered by tradition. He is accompanied by the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and its chief conductor Santtu-Matias Rouvali. The likeable Finn is also on the launch pad for an international career. With Tchaikovsky's Sixth Symphony, the "Pathétique", the orchestra is performing one of the most important works of the Russian Romantic period and beyond. It is the touching swan song of one of the greatest melodists in music history, passionate and deeply moving.
