Somehow, we humans are pretty much in the stranglehold of auxiliary tenses. Well, not the words themselves, but what they describe, that very much determines the terrain in which our actions take place; can, must and want.
If you know and can do everything but don't want to, you won't do anything. Well, unless they have to. But then he only does it until he no longer has to. And if he knows and can do everything, he will arrange it so that he has to do less and less, and then over time he won't do anything either. And you really have to want to live like that.
