The Möhringen Museum of Local History was opened in 1936 on the main floor of the hospital courtyard of Esslingen's Katharinenhospital, which was built in 1469
. The building was badly damaged in 1944 and demolished in 1959. In 1962, the museum was reopened in a new building with the old façade. In addition to prehistoric and early historical finds, the museum mainly houses evidence of local history: views of Möhringen, documents on the history of the association, a fire engine from around 1850 and memorabilia of chamber singer August Kies (1874 - 1935). Also on display are furnishings, household items, tools (flax processing), textiles and testimonials (godparents' letters) from Möhringen's rural past.
