Johann von Bülow, Walter Sittler
"I give you my word of honor!": The world history of lies

On average, a person lies 200 times a day. The lie is the cement of world history. The documents that founded the Papal States and made Hamburg a Hanseatic city - forged! Perhaps even half of the Middle Ages is an invention ... And then the 19th century - the great age of impostors! They sell the Eiffel Tower and the city of London in pieces. Not to forget that in the 20th century, of course, no one planned to build a wall in Berlin or had a "sexual relationship with that woman". Finally, the world history of lies!
After the overwhelming success of their reading in honor of Roger Willemsen and Dieter Hildebradt at the St. Pauli Theater in Hamburg, Walter Sittler (Hildebrandt) and Johann von Bülow (Willemsen) are now going on tour with their entertaining search for the truth about lies. Rearranged and gently updated, they throw scandalous untruths and devious intrigues around. Much to the entertainment of the audience, who will probably be a few illusions poorer after this evening.

"Great fun. Willemsen and Hildebrandt reloaded with the two popular TV stars."
SITTLER: "Ladies and gentlemen, I'm sorry that we haven't been able to give you better news about our species. I'm also sorry because I've taken you to my heart."
BÜLOW: "Oh my goodness."
SITTLER: "It hurts to have to give such good people bad news."

Johann von Bülow, born in Munich in 1972, is one of the best-known German actors of his generation. After studying at the Otto Falckenberg School, he played at major theaters such as the Schauspielhaus Bochum; he has also appeared in numerous German and international cinema and television films and worked with directors such as Oliver Hirschbiegel and François Ozon.

Walter Sittler, a German-American born in Chicago, attended the Otto Falckenberg School at the Kammerspiele in Munich from 1978 to 1981. From 1981 to 1988 he was engaged at the Nationaltheater in Mannheim and then at the Staatstheater Stuttgart until 1995. His career as an actor in TV and several cinema films began in 1995, with the RTL production "Nikola" winning the Grimme Prize and Walter Sittler the German Television Award for Best Actor in a Comedy. The series "Girl Friends", "Nikola" and the series "Ein Fall für den Fuchs" and "Der Kommissar und das Meer", among many other films, have made him known to a wide audience. In addition, Walter Sittler has never given up the stage and has appeared in various theater productions and readings in many German cities for years.
